What was with the Archibald plot being kind of... non-magnificent? The focus of the episode was more on the van der Basses, anyway, so.. I don't see why the episode was named after them?

What's with Vanessa stealing Jenny's note? Ugh, show! Please find a way to work her in to the plots in an original way or kill her off or something. She's getting on my nerves.

I'm rereading the book series, and it's not even funny how much book!Vanessa >>>>>> show!Vaneessa. Oh wells.

I don't know if it was the fact that they played Twilight commercials like... 3 times during breaks or something, but the preview at the end gave me serious Twilight flashbacks. "If you only had ONE NIGHT TO LIVE... WHO WOULD YOU SPEND IT WITH?"

Q: What do you do when someone throws the dresses that represent your entire future as a designer into a trash can and pours lighter fluid on them?

A) Grab the dresses and run

B) Stand around yelling while someone takes the time to take out a match, dramatically light it, and set your shiny dress designs on fire

Maybe Jenny Humphrey needs to revisit the SCHOOL OF COMMON SENSE. I think the large amounts of eye-liner is disrupting her thinking process. Not that she really had one in the first place, but, hey.

My friends are pissing me off so much right now.

Over the summer Emma came up with the idea for Where's Natalie? : The Musical! Which in theory sounds like a cute little goofing-off-with-friends project. Only Emma decided to blow it waaaaay out of proportion.

She had us all come over today for three hours. I assumed we were going to be filming it today. But noooooo! Today was the first meeting to plan the script for WN?:tM.

Just.. when I thought of this thing, I was thinking we'd film it in two hours at Emma's house. But they're all taking it so seriously! Like, they were even talking about having a viewing at Emma's/selling copies. Because I'm so sure people are going to be interested in buying this... thing which is completely beyond our time limits/abilities to do.

7 days! 7 days!

YEAH I'M PRETTY EXCITED.

In other good news:

So, in English we're studying literary archetypes and while I'm going over the "Literary Hero", I notice something...

It means "a look shared by two people with each wishing that the other will initiate something that both desire but which neither one wants to start."


It's a word from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego, and it's in The Guinness Book of World Records as the "most succinct word", and is considered one of the hardest words to translate.




ANYWAY. I downloaded StumbleUpon, and omg. It's the coolest thing ever. I've been browsing through Linguistic sites and I've found AWESOME WORDS:


Like:
1. Waldeinsamkeit - the feeling of being alone in the woods (German)
2. Ilunga - a person who is ready to forgive any abuse for the first time, to tolerate it a second time, but never a third time (Tshiluba, Congo)
3. Yoko meshi - literally ‘a meal eaten sideways’, referring to the peculiar stress induced by speaking a foreign language (Japanese)
4. Pochemuchka - a person who asks a lot of questions (Russian)


AND MY FAVORITE:
Esprit de l’escalier - a witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs (French)
